Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) Travel Award Likely in March 2023 As of 2023, the Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) has been absorbed into the International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM).  The Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) Travel Award is no longer offered.
SERB-UBC Scholarship On hold This award, a collaboration between The Science and Engineering Research Board, India (SERB) and UBC, provides up to 5 scholarships per year to PHD candidates in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It includes a monthly living allowance of USD 2,000 plus funding by UBC covering the tuition costs.
Aboriginal Graduate Fellowship Bridge Funding No future deadline; program discontinued The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies matches funding provided by graduate programs to support Indigenous Master's graduate students.
CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award Discontinued as of 2024 These awards are made to individuals who have completed PhD dissertations representing original work that makes an unusually significant contribution to the discipline.
John G. Bene Fellowship Likely in July 2024 Trees and People: Resilience in a changing climate – John G. Bene Fellowship is offered annually to Canadians and permanent residents of Canada pursuing master’s or doctoral studies at a Canadian university. Candidates should have an academic background that combines an interest in forests with social sciences (e.g., forestry/agroforestry/natural resources management/environmental sciences).
Science & SciLifeLab Prize for Young Scientists Likely in July 2024 The prize is awarded annually to one young scientist for outstanding life science research for which he/she was awarded a doctoral degree in the previous two years. The topic of the entrant's thesis research must be in one of the following categories: Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics and Proteomics, Ecology and Environment, Translational Medicine.
IDRC Doctoral Research Awards Wednesday, 17 July 2024 The IDRC Doctoral Research Award supports field research aligned with IDRC’s mandate. Proposed research must fit within the priorities of the Agriculture and Environment, Inclusive Economies, or Technology and Innovation program areas. The award supports field research conducted in one or more countries in the Global South

Wounded Warriors Doctoral Scholarship in Military and Veteran Health Research Likely in September 2024 The Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research (CIMVHR) and Wounded Warriors Canada (WWC) offer a two-year scholarship annually to a PhD student who demonstrates excellence in research issues relevant to military members, Veterans and families while also exhibiting significant potential for a high impact research career.
Killam Connection Likely in September 2024 The Killam Connection program provides up to $25,000 to enable UBC faculty to host an interdisciplinary research forum and graduate course.

John Peters Humphrey Fellowship Likely in September 2024 Provided by the Canadian Council on International Law (CCIL), the John Peters Humphrey Fellowship in International Human Rights or International Organization is awarded to outstanding students to support them in the pursuit of full-time graduate studies in the fields of international human rights or international organization. This fellowship is made in honour of John Peters Humphrey, a renowned Canadian international lawyer.
Musqueam First Nation Scholarship Likely in September 2024 Recipients will have demonstrated academic and leadership achievements including, but not limited to, engagement in the arts, athletics, school, and/or their community. The award is valued up to $5,500 annually and renewable for up to 4 years.
New Relationship Trust Foundation Scholarships Likely in October 2024 Successful applicants will be eligible for a maximum of four consecutive years of undergraduate post-secondary funding, a maximum of two years at the Master’s level and a maximum of two years for the Doctorate level.
