In today's world of work, having a professional LinkedIn profile can be a strong asset for job searching and networking. This session will provide suggestions and guidelines for digital networking and using LinkedIn as a career development tool. It will cover the following questions:

  • Why use LinkedIn?
  • How to create a strong profile?
  • How to use LinkedIn strategically
  • How to use LinkedIn to develop new, engaging connections

There will be opportunities for Q & A.

Facilitators

Danielle Barkley, PhD, is a Career Educator who works with the UBC Career Centre to support graduate students at UBC. She completed her PhD in English literature at McGill University and has previous experience as a university instructor and writing consultant.

Kento Ueda is a career development coordinator at the UBC Career Centre and a graduate student studying educational studies. He assists with expanding graduate students’ opportunities to engage with employers, alumni and community. He loves travelling, meeting new people, and watching historical documentaries.
