UBC Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies is deeply saddened to learn of the death of PhD student Agustín Beltrán. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and those impacted by his sudden death.
The 28-year-old student was working on his PhD in Economics when he was killed in a tragic cycling accident in downtown Vancouver.
A memorial ride in his honour is planned for Sunday, July 3 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Vancouver Art Gallery. Friends, family and other graduate students are welcome to attend the memorial ride.
Vancouver police are continuing to investigate the crash, however If anyone has information regarding the accident, please contact VPD’s collision investigation unit at 604-717-3012.
