Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) Travel Award Likely in March 2023 As of 2023, the Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) has been absorbed into the International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM).  The Canadian Student Health Research Forum (CSHRF) Travel Award is no longer offered.
SERB-UBC Scholarship On hold This award, a collaboration between The Science and Engineering Research Board, India (SERB) and UBC, provides up to 5 scholarships per year to PHD candidates in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. It includes a monthly living allowance of USD 2,000 plus funding by UBC covering the tuition costs.
Aboriginal Graduate Fellowship Bridge Funding No future deadline; program discontinued The Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies matches funding provided by graduate programs to support Indigenous Master's graduate students.
Governor General's Gold Medal March 14, 2025, at 4pm PT Gold medals are awarded to the graduating students with the most outstanding academic records in a doctoral degree and in a Master's degree with thesis.
SSHRC Talent Award March 14, 2025, at 4pm PT The SSHRC Talent Award recognizes outstanding achievement by a current SSHRC doctoral or postdoctoral fellowship or scholarship holder. The Talent Award is given to an individual who maintains academic excellence, has a talent for research and knowledge mobilization and has demonstrated clear potential to be a future leader within and/or outside the academic sector. One Talent Award will be awarded by SSHRC from the nominations submitted by Canadian universities.
EduCanada Study in Canada Scholarships Likely in March 2025 Study in Canada Scholarships provide students from post-secondary institutions located in the new eligible countries/territories with short-term exchange opportunities for study or research in Canadian post-secondary institutions at the college, undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dan David Prize Scholarship Likely in March 2025 The Dan David Prize awards scholarships to doctoral and post-doctoral researchers, carrying out research in one of the selected fields for the current year.
UBC Public Scholars Award Friday, May 16 2025 This award is intended to build connections, community, and capacity for doctoral students who are interested in explicitly linking their doctoral work to an arena of public benefit and integrating broader and more career-relevant forms of scholarship into their doctoral education process.
Foreign Government Awards Program - Korea Likely in March 2025 The Government of Korea through the National Institute for International Education Development offers scholarships to Canadians for study/research at the graduate level.
Walter C. Sumner Memorial Fellowship March 21, 2025, at 4:00PM PT The Walter C. Sumner Memorial Fellowships support Canadian citizens engaged in doctoral studies in Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
Friedman Award for Scholars in Health March 21, 2025, at 4:00PM PT The Friedman Award for Scholars in Health supports learning and research opportunities for graduate students or medical residents working in the broad area of health, to bring new perspectives to their education and further their career.
Graduate Research Awards for Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation Likely in March 2025 Graduate Research Awards for Disarmament, Arms Control and Non-Proliferation are offered by The Simons Foundation and The International Security Research and Outreach Programme (ISROP) of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) with a primary objective to enhance Canadian graduate level scholarship on disarmament, arms control and non-proliferation issues.

Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation of Canada Scholarship for Canadian Women Likely in March 2025 The Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation of Canada offers a graduate scholarship to female Canadian citizens pursuing PhD studies.
Wall Awards March 31, 2025 at 4:00 PM PT Graduate awards have been made available through the Peter Wall Legacy Fund, an endowment established by Peter Wall, for for 2nd and 3rd year Master's students and 5th and 6th year PhD candidates studying sustainable development and environmental protection of British Columbia.
rare Scholarship in Graduate Research Likely in April 2025 The rare Charitable Research Reserve has partnered with the Ages Foundation Fund to financially assist students in pursuit of higher education. The Ages Foundation Research Fellowship & Bursaries program will allow students to study in a relatively undisturbed, yet highly accessible site in Waterloo Region.

BC Indigenous Student Award April 2, 2025, at 4:30PM PST The BC Scholarship Society has established an award program for Indigenous students pursuing studies at the Master’s and Doctoral levels in British Columbia. Renewable awards of up to $5,000 per year are available.
Google PhD Fellowship April 7, 2025, at 4:00PM PT Google PhD Fellowships support PhD students pursuing research in computer science and related fields.
Pursuit Award Likely in April 2025 The Pursuit Awards recognize PhD students from across the globe for their outstanding contributions to and achievements in childhood disability research. The focus of the student/graduate's research must be in the area of pediatric disability.
Centre for Applied Ethics Graduate Fellowship April 17, 2025 The fellowship will provide a one-time annual stipend of $20,000 plus a research-related allowance of $1,500. Relevant topics for this fellowship include but are not limited to: bioethics, business ethics, environmental ethics, public health ethics, and health inequities.
Schmidt Science Fellowships Likely in April 2025 The Schmidt Science Fellows program aims to provide the next generation of scientific leaders and innovators with an exceptional opportunity. Fellows receive a stipend of $100,000 per year and are supported to pursue a one to two year postdoctoral placement at a world-leading laboratory anywhere in the world in a disciplinary pivot from their PhD.
Arthritis Society Graduate PhD Salary Award Likely in April 2025 Salary awards are offered to graduate students who are undertaking full-time research training in an area of clear relevance to arthritis and The Arthritis Society's 5-year research strategic plan.
