Why did you decide to study at UBC?

UBC is a beautiful place to study. I had the good fortune of doing some postgraduate coursework here after my undergraduate degree, and fell in love with the beauty of the campus. Being based out of Vancouver for a few years now, it only made sense to begin my graduate studies at such a beautiful and research-oriented university.

What is it specifically, that your program offers, that attracted you?

I feel very fortunate to work with my supervisor, Dr. CJ Park. I am also excited at the breadth of learning and research opportunity there is in the Counselling Psychology program here.

The ease of access to nature. Although I've been in Vancouver for a few years now, I am still stunned every time I look out of my window and see the beautiful vista of mountains surrounding the city.

I am excited at the breadth of learning and research opportunity there is in the Counselling Psychology program here.

What advice do you have for new graduate students?

I am new myself, but endeavoring to keep my own mental and physical health as a priority feels very important to me. For me that looks like partaking in activities that bring me a sense of joy, relaxation and connection.
