Notes on Eligibility
Eligibility for the Doctoral degree program at UBC requires completion of a Bachelor's degree + Master's degree or M.Phil. Degree
4 year degree is normally required from most institutions.
3 year degrees are an acceptable basis of admission if:
The applicant’s overall standing in degree is 1st Class/Division, AND
The awarding institutions have been accredited by India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of A or better http://www.naac.gov.in/ OR
The awarding institution is designated an Institution of National Importance, such as the Indian Institute of Technology

First Class/Division 1 (65%) or Very Good (8 on a 10-point scale)
Credentials or Degrees Required
Bachelor degree in Engineering, Forestry or Medicine, Bachelor's degree

English Language Test
Applicants from a university in India in which English is not the primary language of instruction must provide results of an English language proficiency examination as part of their application.
Applicants from a university in India in which English is the primary language of instruction may not need an English language proficiency examination as part of their application. Please note that graduate programs have the right to request a language test when deemed necessary, even if the language of instruction has been English.
