Postdoctoral Scholar - Catalysis & Reaction Engineering

A postdoctoral fellow is being sought to join Chester Upham's group of 10 collaborative and welcoming students and postdocs at UBC's Vancouver campus. Several project options are available, including a new method of producing sustainable aviation fuels.

As the lead researcher, you will have the freedom to develop a new catalyst, design a reactor, and/or synthesis and characterization your catalyst using all of our reactor systems and equipment. Your work will seek to understand and control the interaction between reactivity, catalyst surfaces, carbon and reactants. The majority of the work will be experimental and performed in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering's 3 Heterogeneous Catalysis Labs and the Clean Energy Research Center under Dr. Upham’s supervision.

The candidate should have a PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field. Priority will be given to candidates with experimental experience in heterogeneous catalysis. The ideal candidate will work well with the other group members and collaborate on other projects.
