UBC Physics and Astronomy Launchpad Program
There are a number of interesting EDI initiatives happening in programs, departments, and faculties across UBC. One exciting example is the UBC Physics and Astronomy Launchpad Program. This program is for undergraduate students from equity-deserving groups who are interested in applying for research-orientated graduate programs in the future. Participants will be paired with Physics and Astronomy mentors (graduate students and post-docs) who’ll provide support and guidance in participants’ journeys towards joining graduate school. Participants will also join a 3-day workshop from June 15th to 18th (in-person or remote) to meet faculty members and students, attend panel discussions on student life at UBC, explore industry career paths, experience what it is like working in a lab, and much more!
