Master of Music
One of the oldest and largest music schools in the country, the UBC School of Music offers a wide array of undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree training in composition, performance, and scholarship. Whether you're an aspiring musician or musicologist, studio producer or teacher, we have a program for you.
The School of Music offers graduate programs and degrees in three broad fields of specialization: performance, composition, and music scholarship.
The Master of Music (M.Mus.) and Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) are offered in performance and composition; the Master of Arts (M.A.) and the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Music with emphases on Music Theory, Historical Musicology, and Ethnomusicology. We also offer Master's and doctoral degrees in Music Education.
